Bafana has dropped down two places in the latest FIFA ranking. The team dropped from 63rd to 65th after playing two friendly matches against DR Congo and Namibia earlier this month.

.For South Africa, low ranking means they could find themselves dropping into Pot 3 ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw set to be held in October. This means that Bafana could find themselves in a group of death and might find it difficult to qualify for the next round.
