Another EXTREME heatwave is expected TODAY in several parts of South Africa.
The SA Weather Services (SAWS) issued a weather advisory for extreme heat conditions. The advisory is in place from 11:00 Friday morning until Friday evening.

“The public is advised to keep the body cool by wearing light and loose-fitting clothes, drinking water regularly, and staying in shaded areas.
“The public is advised to avoid being in the sun for prolonged periods of time and try to avoid strenuous outside work.”

The SAWS said the extreme heat may cause heat exhaustion or heat stress to animals and people, heat stroke, faintness, and dehydration.
“Additionally, exposure to the heat could result in rapid dehydration, leading to loss of livestock and susceptible people.”
