ANC delighted to have Ramaphosa exonerated

Mbalula says anyone disagreeing with the Public Protector should not be insulting her but instead taking the matter to court.

The African National Congress has welcomed the acting Public Protectors report vindicating President Cyril Ramaphosa of any misconduct in regards to the Phala Phala Game Farm saga.

In a statement the party says the accusations made against the President are baseless and politically motivated.

ANC SAYS ALLEGATION ARE UNSUBSTATIATED

“The allegations in a way show the utter disdain to the Office of the President of South Africa. The complainants seem to suggest that the President should have in person ordinarily laid a charge at a local police station, because to them activating the Presidential Protection Unit to them amounted to an abuse of power.”

After a year investigating, acting Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka cleared Ramaphosa of any wrong doing and found there was no conflict of interest, no abuse of power, and that the president did not financially benefit from the farm.  

MBALULA CHALLENGES ANYONE TO TAKE THE REPORT TO COURT

Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, while addressing the ANC Youth League conference on Saturday, said the those who are against the public protectors findings are welcomed to challenged it in court.

“You don’t insult her because she is a woman. Because you expected her to agree with you. You put the facts before a judge and challenge the outcome. That’s why the decisions of the public protector can be reviewed,” said Mbalula.
