Lewis Hamilton wants Mercedes to take the fight back to Red Bull

Lewis Hamilton’s 16-year F1 career has been associated with great success including a record of seven world titles.

Seven-time Formula 1 champions Lewis Hamilton wants Mercedes to return to form and challenge Red Bull racing next season..

For the second successive year, Mercedes have failed to build a championship-winning car and have not won a race since last November at the Sao Paulo GP.

The Brackley-based team won eight Constructors titles in a row but after F1 introduced the car design rules in 2022, the team has failed to deliver thus allowing Red Bull to dominate.

Lewis Hamilton still searching for win number 104

Red Bull have produced one of the most dominant F1 cars, winning 14 of the 15 races so far this season.

Lewis Hamilton, who has not won a race since Saudi Arabia 2021, says his team just needs to match Red Bull.

“I was just asked a question earlier: would you rather take Max out of the equation or take Adrian Newey out of the equation? Or something like that,” the British driver was quoted on Sky Sports.

“And I was like ‘neither’. We just have to level up and do a better job.

“They have done an exceptional job. You can’t fault them for the amazing work that they collectively are doing and have done. I would just want to level up all of us,” he said.

Lewis Hamilton is still searching for his elusive 104th career race win.

“I think people just seem to remember the seven years or eight years that we were competitive,” he said.

“Don’t forget the years before that when I had pretty interesting cars at that time. So, I’ve had years like last year and this year and, of course, when you are faced with adversity and faced with a challenge like we have, collective,” Hamilton added.
