Red Bull and Max Verstappen hold commanding leads in the Formula 1 constructors’ and drivers’ standings respectively.

The Dutch driver secured his third victory in a row a fortnight ago at the Spanish Grand Prix, and is looking to continue his dominance in North America this weekend at the Canadian GP.

THE 2023 FORMULA 1 SEASON HAS BECOME A ONE-HORSE RACE

The Milton Keynes based team has an opportunity to make history as it aims to win its 100th GP in Formula 1, according to RacingNews365.

However, despite the team’s dominance so far this season, they’ve won every race, team principal Christian Horner says they can learn from every GP.

“We’ve learned from [the Spanish Grand Prix] – did we start the race on the right tyres? Was a Soft tyre a better tyre for the first stint?” Horner told Sky Sports Formula 1.

PEREZ LAST WON A GP AT THE END OF APRIL

One of the biggest disappointments the Formula 1 season has been Sergio Perez’s inconsistent form. The Mexican driver won two of the opening four races before slumping to a 16th and fourth place finishes in Monaco and Spain.

The RB19 is streets ahead of the field in terms of pace and reliability, and Perez simply hasn’t stepped up to the plate and performed well enough to mount a serious title challenge.

He lost 47 points to Max Verstappen from the last three F1 races, however the 33-year-old is feeling confident ahead of this weekend’s race.

“Canada should be a strong race for us. Everything is pretty close right now so that will be an interesting one,” the Red Bull driver said.
