On the back of Zozibini Tunzi’s homecoming tour of the Eastern Cape, the Miss Universe 2019 is set to take part in a street parade in Johannesburg and Cape Town on 13 and 14 February 2020.

The parade follows after Zozibini touched down in South Africa from New York (where she will be based until the next pageant) earlier this month. She has not been home since claiming the crown and her fans couldn’t wait to catch a glimpse of the inspirational queen.

It is reported that fans of Zozibini are expected to line the streets and greet the reigning Miss Universe when she rides in an open-topped bus through the streets as part of her homecoming tour.

It is further reported that her mode of transport in Cape Town will be a colourful float swathed in ribbons in the colours of the South African flag and fitted out with a throne that is a replica of her Miss Universe crown. It was first unveiled during her visit to Mthatha.

“It is the most wonderful form of transport ever,” she said. “And I should know – I’ve ridden on those New York horse-drawn carriages that take you around Central Park!”
