Mzansi’s favourite retailer Woolworths trended on X this week for their R90 pap and wors meal.

R90 PAP AND WORS

Social media user @_BlackZA shared the R90 pap and wors meal and asked South Africans to weigh in.

“Thoughts? Woolworths pap and wors for R89,99,” he posted.

South Africans stated that the meal is too expensive, and the portion is too small.

In the video shared on X, the popular retailer, famously known as Woolies is selling two pieces of boerewors and pap for nearly R100.

@GuguStatu posted: “@WOOLWORTHS_SA ma babe. What’s this? Why is this pap and wors 90 bucks? What is that pap portion? That’s disrespectful. Please… lower this to R50,” she wrote

While others revealed that the meal would be cheaper at a taxi rand or Shoprite, where it’s apparently sold between R35 to R60.

Social media user @Tintswalo777 said: “Remove R80 from that price then it will be worth it.”

When asked how much it should be sold for, she said it should be R30.

SOUTH AFRICANS REACT TO WOOLWORTHS MEAL

@Amor_T_J: “I really wish these plates were more accessible to us who don’t live close to erenkini (taxi rank).”

@SirMncwango: “Go to any Taxi rank you will get a better-looking plate under R60.”

@uncle_P4pf: “You can get the same for R7.50 at Shoprite.”

@VuyoVee09: “R90 for two pieces of wors, bayahlanya (they are crazy).”

@tembisaonlyn: “This is the price you pay for being lazy.”

@PrincessSkhu: “Woolworths has actually found their market with their recent innovations. From selling slices of cake to ready-made meals. It’s definitely not for me but I guess it comes in handy when one doesn’t have time to cook.”
