Storms could damage Christmas lights and other electronics, says the website HowStuffWorks.
According to the South African Weather Service, rain and thunderstorms could be expected for parts of the country on Christmas Day. Provinces including Gauteng and Kwazulu-Natal might be affected by storms and rain until early-2024.

Thunderstorms could mean that lightning causes potential damage to electronic equipment, which can include everything from fridges to Christmas lights.
If you see the signs of storms coming your way, some electronics might be best plugged out.

If you are caught in thunderstorms, stay away from all windows and open spaces. Avoid standing in (or near) water, and don’t do dishes or washing when there’s an active thunderstorm.
