The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is in charge of administrating social grants to millions of people who are in need of assistance. Amongst others, the Disability Grant, the In-Aid Grant, and the Pensioners (Older Persons) Grant make up part of their monthly responsibilities.

As part of the year’s end, the team have wished South Africans a merry Christmas – and a prosperous new year.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) have used their Facebook page to announce a happy Christmas for social grant recipients – and wished them well until the continuation of 2024.

In 2024, recipients hope that the grant payment system will run more smoothly than it did this year – especially after glitches and website downtime in 2023.
SASSA over the holidays
If there are any questions or complaints for grant system customers, the social service call centre remains open during business hours – and if you have registered your banking details and your grant is approved, funds should be on the way to you again in January.
