The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is the government agency responsible for social grants, which includes millions of people who depend on the system to get through their monthly expenses.

Older Persons (Pensioners) Grants, Disability Grants, Child Support Grants, and R350-SRD Grants are some of the payments which the national agency is responsible for towards approved recipients.

But what are the first payment dates for January, 2024?

Here’s more about when the first social grant payments will be available for the new year.

SASSA: first payment dates for January 2024

The South African Social Secuirty Agency (SASSA) have announced their first payment dates for January, 2024.

Payments can be collected at participating retailers like Spar, PnP, Boxer Stores, and certain regional branches. PostNet will still be an available collection point until later this year, according to information from the social grant agency.

If your grant has been approved for collection, you should be able to collect it on the following date(s).

SASSA: January 2024 payment dates

The social grant payment dates have been released by SASSA, and approved social grants can be collected on the following dates:

Older Persons (Pensioners) Grants will pay out on 3 January, 2024.

Disability Grants will be paid on 4 January, 2024.

Other social grants, including the Child Support Grant and In-Aid Grant, will be paid on 5 January, 2024.

The last social grant on this list is expected to be the R350-SRD Grant, which is expected to be issued at a later point in the month.
