‘Please pray for me’: Good Samaritan BI Phakathi opens up
Filmmaker, life coach and philanthropist BI Phakathi has opened up about his struggles and pleaded with South Africans to pray for him.

Award-winning motivational speaker and philanthropist BI Phakathi – who is famous for his tear-jerking and heartwarming gestures on social media – has asked his followers for prayers.
BI PHAKATHI SAYS HE IS BROKE
In a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, 4 October, the Good Samaritan opened up about his financial state.
“This assignment is bigger than me. Right now, I am broke I have used all resources to spread the good news and fight poverty. Please pray for me if you can,” Phakathi wrote.

‘I AM NOT A TRUST FUND BABY’
The social media influencer has previously opened up about his background, telling his followers that he was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
In a post in February this year, Phakathi wrote: “I don’t have days off because I just don’t want to go back to poverty. I am not a trust fund baby. I earned every cent.”

SOME OF BI PHAKATHI’S GOOD DEEDS
Over the years, the faceless philanthropist has trended for his good deeds. Phakathi is known for helping the less fortunate by providing financial assistance and other forms of support.
In one his most viral videos, Phakathi is seen coming to the rescue of a young father and his his toddler son. The man reveals that the mother of the child has passed away and he is struggling to cope.

After giving the father and son a lift to their destination, Phakathi gifts them bags of groceries and money. At first, the man –who is already overcome with emotion – is hesitant to take the money, but Phakathi assures him that there is no catch. He tells Phakathi that he is going to use some of it to obtain his driver’s license.

In a follow up video, Phakathi takes the father and son out to the mall, gets him a cellphone and shares the news that he has found him a job. The young father also shares that he is now a licensed driver.
