Prince William and Kate Middleton recently released the official portraits of the christening of their son and the royal family’s newest member, Prince Louis of Cambridge.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released four official photographs of Prince Louis’ christening that took place on 9 July 2018.

According to Kensington Palace, the photographs were taken by Matt Holyoak at Clarence House.

In attendance was Prince Louis’ grandparents; the Cambridge’s was joined by Prince Charles, The Duchess of Cornwall, the newly-married Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Kate’s family, the Middleton’s.

Prince Louis was born on 23 April 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. Prince Louis wore the handmade replica of the Royal Christening Robe, made by Angela Kelly, Dressmaker to The Queen. According to Kensington Palace, the Royal Christening Robe, of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter, Victoria, Princess Royal.

Following the service, the Cambridge’s gave a private tea at Clarence House. Guests got to enjoy a slice from the christening cake, which is a tier taken from William and Kate’s wedding cake.

The Kensington Palace later released an additional photo of Kate and Prince Louis, saying: 

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released an additional photograph taken following the christening of Prince Louis. The Duke and Duchess hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do.”
