Nompilo Maphumulo gears up to join a new show on SABC 1

Fans share their excitement as former Uzalo Star joins Generations the Legacy. She will make her debut on June 13.

Maphumulo is set to debut in a new show after leaving the set of Uzalo a few months back. The actress who played Nosipho Gxabashe on Uzalo, has confirmed that she has joined Generations the Legacy while keeping it very vague.

Speaking to TimesLIVE the actress revealed that she will be playing Buhle, who is an old acquaintance of Mrekza played by Kope Makgae. Buhle is set to make an appearance soon and is expected to shake up the drama a little. In a post on her Instagram page, Nompilo mentioned June 13, and fans are speculating that she will be on air starting June 13th. Mzansi’s reaction to the news was one of excitement.

Before sharing the news, the star posted her on her Instagram page teasing her new role. Mzansi took a guess from the wall background on her picture that she was indeed joining the cast of Generations the Legacy. “It’s most definitely Mfundi Vundla’s set” one commented. Another wrote, “I’ proud of you, my love”.

Generations The Legacy confirms rumour

According to IOL, the production team of the show has confirmed that the star will be making her official debut on the 13th of June. Making an official statement, the production’s PR Christopher Morris shared that Maphumulo will be playing a character named Buhle, an old connection to Mzekza. The character will bear a life changing reminder from his past.

Generations the Legacy wishes to extend a warm welcome to Nompilo Maphumulo. She will be on air from Tuesday the 13th of June, and viewers can look forward to Nompilo’s easy charm warming our screens at the usual 8pm slot” said the production team. 

The actress is keeping it under wraps on her socials. She has not given away too much to her followers. On her Instagram page she wrote “13th June, you are going to love her. I’ll keep you posted Ntwana Zaaaam”.

Good news for Maphumulo seems to be coming from all angles. Two weeks ago, the actress hinted that she had received some good news. In post she wrote “My smile a few hours before I got the news yesterday. Life can change in a split second. Learn to appreciate the gift of life”.
