A lot of South Africans are dead keen on getting their hands on that maroon British passport. The good news? It could be a lot easier than you think. If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you could very well have a claim to British citizenship and a passport.
So what do you do next? Well, as with any application for dual citizenship when you are South African, you should first seek professional advice before you start making applications.

South Africa does allow its citizens to have a second citizenship, but you need to get written permission from the Minister of Home Affairs before you apply for your second nationality. If you don’t do this, your application could cause your South African citizenship to be renounced.
