Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement, the world has been trying to learn all that they can about the couple’s relationship. Some questions include, who is Meghan Markle and exactly what does her engagement ring look like? Luckily we have all the details over here!

Meghan Markle’s engagement ring:

When the couple attended a photo-call at the Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace on the day of their engagement announcement, Meghan proudly flashed her engagement ring.

Later that day, in their first interview together, Prince Harry opened about the engagement ring.

The Prince designed the three-stone diamond ring himself. It’s believed the ring was created by Cleave and Company, the Queen’s jewelers. The stones were also chosen for a particular reason.

In the BBC interview, Prince Harry said: “The ring is obviously yellow gold because that’s her favorite. And the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”

The interviewer proceeded to ask Meghan how she felt about wearing stones that once belonged to Princess Diana:

“I think everything about Harry’s thoughtfulness is — and the inclusion of that, and obviously not being able to meet his mom it’s so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us. And I think in being able to meet his aunts — and also like Julia — and just different people who were so important to his mom, I’m able to, in some way, know a part of her through them and, of course, through him. It’s incredibly special. And you know to be able to have this, which sort of links where you come from and Botswana, which is important to us, it’s perfect.”

And just why is Botswana important to them?

After they met, Prince Harry invited Meghan to Botswana where they camped out with each other under the stars. “She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic. So then we were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure that we had a chance to get to know each other,” the Prince said further.
