When South Africans have a braai, there’s a staple that we can’t do without, miliepap. This maize meal food is usually enjoyed in a different form for breakfast, but cooking it like the video below is the perfect base for a gravy with your meat coming off the braai or with stews.
With just a few ingredients, you’ve got a great side for your dinner but there are so many ways to enjoy mieliepap. You can have it with potiekos and stew but still have it for breakfast with some butter, peanutbutter and sugar. Everybody has their preferred consistency and additions, so you’ll never get bored.
