From pre-birthday celebrations to her birthday yesterday 25 June, media personality Bonang Matheba dripped in Bottega Veneta and Dona Mathoshi as she hit the streets of New York.

In the lead-up to her birthday, Bonang was spotted out and about in New York City to which which relocated in late May. Styled by New York-based stylist Harrison Thomas Crite, popularly known as H Diddy, Bonang was dressed in Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection from head-to-toe with a total worth of an eyewatering R79 000.

Here is a breakdown of her R79 000 outfit according to The Citizen


Bonang wore a sleeveless long khaki dress that retails for $3400 equating to R48 000 according to Fashion Bomb Daily on Instagram.

Bonang paired her expensive dress with a Bottega Veneta double knot mini bag that costs $1250 equating to R18 000 and a pair of strappy sandals from the luxury brand that cost $890 equating to R12 600. 

In a video posted to her Instagram, Bonang is seen having a fun day out with her friends in  a yacht, lunch, dinner, drinks and a night out partying. She rocked a total of four outfits in the video. 


Bonang and H Diddy have been working together for years and the style expert also styled Bonang’s birthday look. The North West-born model Bonang celebrated her 34th birthday on Friday 25 June and this year she went full glam. 

The North West-born model and businesswoman wore a mint green dress by Dona Matoshi paired with silver heels by Giuseppe Zanotti and a Gedebe x Massimo Bonini. Her jewellery was by Genevive Jewelry.


On Thursday 24 June, Bonang posted a cryptic message on Twitter hinting that she has a new man in her life.

“He finally found me,” wrote Bonang in a tweet that has since been deleted. 

Between the 6000 likes and 391 retweets, Bonang was asked by a fan if she will be posting her new mystery man and she responded with a “no”.

This comes after Bonang admitted to sliding into Bill Gates Direct Messages (DMs) after his divorce from wife of 27 years, Melinda Gates. She said she also slid into Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos DMs. 

When the proposal to legalise polyandry in South Africa was introduced, Bonang was highly in favour of this, saying she would like two husbands.
