Eskom is the country’s national electricity provider, but also the body that’s in charge of controlling scheduled power outages called loadshedding.

If you have something to report, most electricity issues (including outages) are sent to the electricity agency.

Most people don’t know it yet, but Eskom now has a chatbot called Alfred where issues and faults can be sent.

Eskom has an online chatbot called ALFRED to help report faults and outages.

If you have anything to report, ‘speak’ to Alfred via their contact information page. Questions can be asked (and answered), and you can prompt them for feedback on a previous query or complaint.

This is designed to help customers before they reach a service representative.

The name of its chatbot might be inspired by Bruce Wayne/Batman’s butler, Alfred.

Eskom encourages reports and complaints.

If you make a report, it means that you are letting them know about an issue that should be fixed. Reports are important information, especially if you are reporting an outage or other power issue.

If you want to reach Alfred, however, you have to use their website!
