13 years later: Guns N’ Roses are back with a new single ‘Absurd’ [watch]
Guns N’ Roses are one of the world’s most loved rock bands. After a 13-year break from releasing music, the band is back with ‘Absurd’.

Legendary American rock band Guns N’ Roses released their track Absurd on 6 August. This is their first single in 13 years since the release of their 2008 14-track album, Chinese Democracy.

GUNS N’ ROSES’ ‘ABSURD‘
Rolling Stone reported that Absurd is a remake of an unreleased song, titled Silkworms.
The rock band first previewed the song at an energetic performance in Boston, at Fenway Park on 3 August. The band’s lead vocalist Axl Rose, described the song as “a new Guns N’ Roses song.”
“Some of you might have heard this under another name, but this is really kind of absurd for us to try this”, Rose said.
The heroic rock band had the crowd rocking out and jumping as they performed the loud and spirited single.

THE BAND’S MOST-STREAMED SONG
Guns N’ Roses celebrated their chart-topping ballad Sweet Child O’ Mine surpassing one billion Spotify streams yesterday.
Sweet Child O’ Mine, was released 34 years ago and featured on their debut album Appetite for Destruction.
The single topped the Billboard music charts on 9 September 1988. The single’s music video also became the first 80s music video to surpass over one billion YouTube views.

WHERE ARE GUNS N’ ROSES?
One of the band’s guitarists Slash told NME in 2020 that changes in the way albums are released today has delayed Guns N’ Roses first album release since Chinese Democracy.
Speaking on how the music industry has changed drastically, Slash mentioned that some people in his close circles have suggested the band make an old-school record popularly known as vinyl, but there are people who’ve said they just don’t buy records anymore!
Guitarist Richard Fortus had hinted at the band releasing new music in 2020 that they could possibly integrate into their live shows.
“I think at the end of the day, everybody wants to have a full album released. I don’t think that’s really changed all that much.”
