Hlelo and Ntando Masina: Where are the twins now?

Former TV and YFM radio personalities Hlelo and Ntando left the spotlight years ago. Where are the Masina twins?

Former TV and radio personalities Hlelo and Ntando, who are known as the Masina twins revealed why they left the spotlight, their personal growth in a 2020 interview with News 24.

HLELO AND NTANDO RETURN TO LIMELIGHT?

The publication reported that the identical twins, Hlelo and Ntando Masina briefly returned to the public eye with a YouTube channel titled Hlelo and Ntando in 2019.

According to their channel, their last post was shared two years ago, before they disappeared again. 

  • They left YFM in 2013 after being on air for 5 years, which was after their reality TV show Blame It On Fame in 2012.
  • The pair were then involved in a Campaign For Girls initiative, which involves assisting young girls in their career, self, and community development. 

Hlelo revealed to Channel24 that they didn’t feel the need to stay on TV and radio when they stopped being in the limelight even though the platforms put them in the spotlight.

Ntando said she needed spiritual, mental, and emotional grounding and self-reflection and growth helped her reassess her priorities and goals.

The twins added: “We’ve always known that we wanted to create content that we own together. After being out of the spotlight for so long, we wanted to have control of our own ideas and voice. We really missed expressing ourselves on screen.”

MASINA TWINS: WORKING TOGETHER

Hlelo and Ntando Masina, who also have Instagram accounts separately @HleloMasina and @NtandoMasina have 20 000 followers each.

Hlelo revealed at the time that working with her twin sister Ntando is always a blast and they’ve been collaborating even before ‘collaboration’ was a buzzword.

“Working with Ntando is always a blast, she has been the cause of many headaches, but it’s fun for the most part. We’ve both gone through a dynamic transition and I’m excited to see where our creativity takes us.”

The media darlings also said even though they left our TV screens, they still maintained a dedicated fan base and appreciate the love that they received then and appreciate the love even more now.

The twins continue to keep a low profile and last shared pictures of each other on their Instagram accounts in December 2022.
