South African social media users aren’t impressed with local artist Uncle Waffles or restaurant KFC at the moment. Many of them have shared negative reactions to KFC’s announcement that they will be re-launching a meal called the Uncle Waffles burger.
While many were excited about the new addition to the menu, others don’t think that the meal should be marketed to South Africans since Uncle Waffles chose to be presented as a Swaziland native when she was nominated for an international award.

Mzansi vows to boycott KFC’s Uncle Waffles burger
It would appear a number of South Africans still have a bone to pick with amapiano sensation Uncle Waffles.
Many of them are still upset over the fact that she stated that her nationality was Swaziland and not South African after being nominated for a BET award earlier this year.

Because of this, they have decided not to buy the Uncle Waffles burger from fast food restaurant KFC which was recently relaunched.
The meal consists of a crispy KFC chicken filet dunked in maple chipotle sauce, topped with cheese and served in between two warm waffles.
Heading online, both KFC and the musician shared the news.

Not very impressed
While a bunch of people shared how they will be running to try the burger, others don’t think South Africans should be support the artist.
“South Africa are you ready for the KFC burger which will be sold in South Africa but in eSwatini Dololo. We are not taken serious in South Africa,” one person said and a number of others agreed.
“She and KFC can voestek with her nonsense she denied us when she was at the top,” wrote one app users, while a third added:
“She said she is from Swaziland, why burger in SA while there are many celebs who can benefit from that burger under their names.”
