Princess Beatrice ex: Paolo Liuzzo’s cause of death revealed

Princess Beatrice’s ex-boyfriend, Paolo Liuzzo’s cause of death has been revealed after he was found dead in a Miami hotel room on 7 February.

PAOLO LIUZZO’S CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED

Daily Mail, who labelled Paolo Liuzzo, Princess Beatrice’s “playboy ex”, reported that he died after overdosing on a lethal combination of drugs, including the opioid fentanyl. Sky News reports that Liuzzo’s body was found in a Miami hotel room on 7 February, where he was believed to be working as an art consultant, at the time of his death.

The report, revealed by Daily Mail, concluded Liuzzo had died of “acute combined drug toxicity”. Also noting: “police impounded extensive drug paraphernalia from the scene”.

Liuzzo’s body was transported from Miami to Long Island. This was where the funeral took place on 16 February. His friends reportedly said that he was not doing well in the months leading up to his death.

“Paolo was not doing great on a personal level. He loved to party and gamble. He began using a lot of pharmaceutical drugs but that later led to cocaine and harder drugs. It was a very fast lifestyle and we all feared it would catch up with him eventually,” said a friend of Liuzzo’s according to The Sun.

Princess Beatrice of York, is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. She began dating Liuzzo in 2005. Princess Beatrice was only 17 at the time, while he was 24. However, her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah approved of their relationship, and invited him to join the family on a vacation. This was to Verbier in Switzerland, marking the pair making their romance public.

However, a year later, in 2006, the pair called it quits. Liuzzo also earlier faced manslaughter charges. This was later downgraded to assault and battery, over a fist fight which left a man dead. However, the Duchess of York still gave her daughter her blessing.

“We all have our own journeys and have to learn our way but Beatrice is a sensible girl, soon to be 18, with many friends, including Paolo,” she said to the media at the time.

Princess Beatrice married entrepreneur Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020. Together, the pair have a two-year-old daughter named Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.
