HARRY AND MEGHAN SPEAK OUT ON KATE MIDDLETON’S CANCER DIAGNOSIS

On Friday 22 March, the Princess of Wales revealed that she had cancer. She explained that her medical team advised her that it is best to undergo chemotherapy in an emotional video shared on Twitter.

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle released a statement following the announcement. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are known to have a strained relationship with Kate, wished health and healing for the Princess and her family.

The Princess of Wales has three children – Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5) with her husband, Prince William.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” said Prince Harry and Meghan in a statement to People.

KATE MIDDLETON OPENS UP ABOUT CANCER DIAGNOSIS

The mom of three sat down on a garden bench, dressed in a blue and white striped jumper and jeans, and opened up about her cancer diagnosis. She first expressed gratitude to everyone who sent messages of support. Kate then explained that it had been a tough couple of months for her family after she underwent major abdominal surgery, and later found out she had cancer.

“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery,” she said.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful. In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful,” she continued.

Kate then revealed that her medical team has advised she undergo preventative chemotherapy and she is in the early stages of treatment.

“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she added.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in
order to start my treatment,” she went on to say.
