UK CITIZENS UNCONVINCED BY KING CHARLES

Despite the optimistic tone of the King’s Speech, many British viewers were left unconvinced by the tone of his speech. King Charles was draped in expensive regalia from head to toe and was seated on a gold throne as he addressed the masses.

Many felt as if this show of “pomp” was a slap in the face to many of the country’s struggling citizens who are dealing with rising inflation, price hikes and increased job insecurity. UK MP, Steven Bonnard summed up the people’s sentiments when he wrote on X, “I opted to read the King’s Speech rather than traipse into the Lords to hear it…. but a man dressed like this talking about ways to help ease the Cost of Living crisis?”

It seems as if King Charles will have a lot of work to do in order to win the masses over following this latest address.
