King Charles is believed to have welcomed Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson back to the royal family after she was banned by his father, Prince Phillip.

Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, the ex-wife of disgraced Prince Andrew joined the royal family on their annual photographed walk to St Mary Magdalene’s church on the Sandringham estate for Christmas. This marked the Duchess of York’s return to the tradition after about 30 years, according to reports.
Fergie is the former wife of Prince Andrew, Duke of York. She is the mom of Queen Elizabeth’s two grandchildren – Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. While Ferguson kept her Duchess of York title, she lost her Royal Highness (HRH) title as a result of her divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996.
A source told Page Six, that Fergie was welcomed back by her former brother-in-law King Charles. The King reportedly quietly invited Fergie to Christmas lunch at the Norfolk estate in 2022, just months after he took the throne.
While Prince Andrew and Fergie divorced in 1996, the pair are believed to be living together since 2008. A palace insider told Page Six that Charles is fond of Fergie and she has grown closer to Queen Camilla.
“Sarah has always been close to the king [Charles] and is fond of him, and she has increasingly grown closer to the queen [Camilla],” said the source to the publication.
“She’s always been loyal to the family and has really not put a foot wrong in recent years. She’s never said a critical word and is always extremely loyal to the institution,” the source continued.

WHY WAS FERGIE BANNED FROM THE ROYAL FAMILY?
Fergie was reportedly caught trying to sell a journalist access to Prince Andrew. There was also a cheating scandal surrounding her marriage. The Duchess of York was rumoured to have cheated on Prince Andrew. She was also photographed with her toes in another man – Texan financial advisor John Bryan’s mouth. This was while she was still legally married to the now disgraced Prince.
