PRINCE KAYBEE ON HIS NEW ALBUM ‘GEMINI’

Prince Kaybee released his fifth studio album, Gemini, on 17 June. The producer featured the likes of Ami Faku, Nkosazana Daughter and former Idols SA judge Unathi Nkayi.

Kaybee was one of a few artists who performed at The Social Assembly, an event held in Botswana on 30 September. Following the performance, a fan questioned why the star did not play any music from his new album.

“It’s an insecure album for me, not well received so as an artist, you never know if its safe. Art is wild, but I apologise,” he said in his response.

FANS COMFORT PRINCE KAYBEE

Tweeps were quick to comfort Prince Kaybee after he opened up about the poor reception of his Gemini album. Many reminded the producer that he has several chart-topping hits.

“We love Gemini, I once gave it album of the year stats, you just need to make a video for Zimbali, just for December, we apologise,” wrote one tweep.

“You have hits, don’t take yourself for granted big pro please!!” wrote another tweep.

“A good album is a good album regardless of the reception. Kanye West dropped Yeezus and the album was not received well but today its amongst Kanye West’s best work.”
