‘I don’t approve’: Penuel accused of ‘slut-shaming’ Pearl Thusi

Over the weekend, Pearl Thusi broke the internet with her semi-nude pics posted on social media. But while many have praised the actress for her daring look, others like Penuel Mlotshwa have “slut shamed” her for it. 

The outspoken podcaster even shared a tweet posting his disapproval of the star. 

PENUEL ON PEARL THUSI: ‘IT’S A BAD EXAMPLE’

On Sunday, Pearl Thusi posted another set of pics showing off her bare breasts.

Reacting in a tweet, Penuel claimed that the actress was free to make decisions over her own body, he strongly opposed it.

Referencing his moral compass, he tweeted: “I personally don’t approve of this. I think it’s a bad example for young impressionable kids/girls. I don’t think it’s liberating… I think it promotes the cheapening of the female body in the eyes of most men.

He added: “Pearl has done really well for her career, but I don’t approve of her current shenanigans.

“If we don’t share our thoughts on such, the assumption will be that we all approve when many of us don’t.  I wouldn’t be happy with my mothers, sisters, or daughters dressing like this. We’re not yet mentally liberated to be nude like this… most men see this as fishing for pervert attention, & a desperate desire to trend by any means.

As a follow-up tweet, Penuel stressed that he was sharing his personal opinion.

He added: “I’m not a role model….It’s important for all of us to raise societal concerns”.

CRITICISM OVER MULTIPLE BABY MAMAS

Needless to say, Penuel’s strong opinions were met with equally strong clap backs.

While many tweeps encouraged him to stop policing women’s bodies, others urged him to focus on his six children from four different women.

Meanwhile, Pearl Thusi was quick to clap back at criticism over her recent raunchy posts.

The Queen Sono star quipped in the comments section: “Y’all need to stop acting like y’all ain’t see my ladies in my movies already. Nothing new happening here. I even did the Marie Claire naked what what twice”,” she wrote.”.
