South African rugby star Retshegofaditswe Nche – known as Ox – loves his cake. He has gone viral after posing with a slice of cake and a sign that reads, ‘salads don’t win scrums’. It looks like he may just be on to something after the Springboks secured another World Cup final following a nail biting match against England on Saturday evening this week.

In light of this, retail giant Woolworths has offered to give Ox a well deserved thank you — a lifetime supply of their decadent chocolate cake.

The Springboks have truly made South Africa a proud nation.

While there are a million things to complain about, hundreds of thousands of locals united to stand behind the national rugby team who beat England 27-26 in Saturday nights semifinal match.

Every player played their part and a special thanks can be given to Ox Nche who helped save the day just when everyone thought all hope was lost.

In light of this, Woolies has decided to give Ox a chocolatey surprise — cake for the whole year.

Taking to X, the retail giant made the announcement, “Dear Ox, please reach out to us for a year’s supply of chocolate cake. After last night, it’s a South African priority.”

Since Ox is a self-confessed cake lover, this is the perfect gift.

Slide into his DMs?!

In the comment section, many reminded Woolies that they should be reaching out to him and not the other way around.

“He’s preparing to win a World Cup at the moment, but when he’s done then YOU reach out to him,” one person wrote while another added:

“But I think you should be the ones reaching out to him. This is Ox Nche not an influencer that got a million views. Woolies move like you know better please”
