Gibson Makanda has been dubbed as Nelson Mandela’s “clone” by many, and he was born out of the conspiracy theory known as the ‘Mandela Effect’, according to BuzzSouthAfrica.

Since his death, Nelson Mandela often made headlines, from a South African hero who sacrificed his freedom for the country’s freedom to being referred to as a “sellout”.

WHO IS GIBSON MAKANDA?

Gibson Makanda and Nelson Mandela’s story remains a mystery to many and a topic often ignored by many for the sake of peace.

According to BuzzSouthAfrica, conspiracy theorists believe that Mandela did not liberate South Africa since he died in prison in the 1980s.

The theorists believe that the apartheid government brought Gibson Makanda to negotiate the end of the apartheid rule and become the first black president.

ZINDZI MANDELA ON THE CONSPIRACY THEORY

The late daughter of Nelson Mandela once rubbished the conspiracy theory in a series of tweets.

In one of the tweets, she even swiped at the person behind the theory and revealed that he needed mental help.

TimesLive also reported that she rubbished suggestions the former president died in 1985 aged 67 and was replaced with a “clone”.

No doubt, the Gibson Makanda theory remains a mystery to many.
