‘Rest peacefully’: Mzansi pays tribute to PSL guru Peter Mancer
The African National Congress, the PSL, media personalities and netizens paid their respect to the late Peter Mancer.

PSL’s advisor Mancer, popularly known as ‘Squire’ died on Monday night 2 January. The Premier Soccer League (PSL) marketing and broadcasting specialist advisor will be forever missed.
RIP PETER MANCER: CONDOLENCES FLOW IN
The PSL confirmed Mancer’s death later Monday evening. According to The Citizen, the sport’s guru succumbed to a long battle with lung disease.
In releasing the statement, PSL said,
“We express our sincere condolences to the Mancer family. Your loss is indeed our loss. Together with you, we will miss the gentle giant-Mancer the dancer…
“When I think about Squire, I think of pedigree, he was one of a kind. Dependable, tenacious, abundance of energy. His word was bankable,” said PSL Chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza as quoted in the statement.
AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS ON PETER MANCER’S DEATH
The African National Congress also extended their deepest condolences in Mancer’s passing, saying,
“…to Mancer’s family, friends and colleagues as well as soccer fans throughout the lengths and breadths of our country. May they find solance in knowing that their loss is shared by the entire country.”
MAMKHIZE AND MINNIE DLAMINI SEND THEIR CONDOLENCES TO PETER MANCER’S FAMILY
Media personalities Minnie Dlamini and Shuawn ‘Mamkhize’ Mkhize also said they were saddened by the passing of the PSL legend.
Dlamini shared her experience in breaking into the sports industry as a sports anchor, nervous to embark on the new journey, and said,
“Thank you for always guiding me through this journey, your wisdom and support will be deeply missed. Thank you for the laughs and more than anything, thank you for making everything you touched GOLD because we all grew.”
Royal AM owner, Mkhize shared the news of Mancer’s passing on 5 January. She said,
“Saddened to hear about the passing of a friend and dear brother Peter Mancer.🕯️🕯️
You were one of the very few people who believed in my dream. You were a great leader and motivator. It’s painful to know that we will never speak again but I believe that you’ll be watching and guiding our paths. You will be sorely missed. 🙏🏾 Rest Peacefully.”
