The Springboks overcame a shaky start to claim a crucial 49-18 win over Tonga in a Pool B match at a packed Stade de Marseille Velodrome in Marseille on 1 October 2023.

No doubt, the result from this bruising encounter all but assures the Springboks’ safe passage through to the quarter-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Undoubtedly, the Springboks have been topping trends with congratulatory messages flooding social media in the backdrop of the win.

In the backdrop of the Pool B match, Handre Pollard has been topping trends. He undoubtedly pulled a masterclass in his first Test appearance in over a year.

However, he wasn’t too flashy on the attack but oozed confidence and class, and many flooded social media to give him a stamp of approval for his performance.
