Following his lavish Easter 2023 “Ransom” service, Pastor Mike Todd has received a tremendous amount of outrage on social media.

While the full event was not uploaded to social media, parts of it did, and they showed that the church audience was not at all what one may have anticipated.

The celebration, which went viral online, featured performances by Beyoncé and Kesha, stage lights evocative of a Hollywood awards show, and dances reminiscent of Sam Smith’s iconic Unholy song.

This year’s Easter service at Transformation Church, named Ransom, included a number of thrilling performances and elaborate dance routines.

The song Diva by Beyoncé had its words significantly altered during one of their performances. The following lyrics included:

“The dragon was an angel turned into a hustla.”

A Ransom performer said, “Okay demons now let’s get in formation,” imitating Beyoncé’s famous song Formation. Dancers also performed during the church service to Kesha’s song Die Young.

Transformation Church may not be the place to worship for you if you prefer quiet, subtle, and understated preaching.
