For the last week or so, songstress Makhadzi has been involved in a heated social media battle with her record label Open Mic. The Limpopo singer alleges that the company has treated her like a slave and refuses to pay her. Clapping back, Open Mic took legal action against her as well as shared what appears to be proof that she was paid close to R7 million over the last few years.

In the midst of all of this, the documents that was served to Makhadzi state that her second name is Decorate. This has been pointed out by a social media user who left many others cracking up at the unique name.

South Africa has some of the most unique names in the world. While many countries have evolved in terms of the names that are now in use, we continue to take the cake.

And that is thanks to people like Makhadzi. According to reports, the star’s second name is allegedly Decorate.

Legal documents addressed to the singer state that her full name is Ms Ndivhudzannyi Decorate Ralivhona — something that social media users quickly pointed out.

“South Africans laugh at Zimbabwean names but Makhadzi’s name is Decorate,” wrote popular app user @Iam_Blujay.

Mzansi weighs in

Many people headed to the comment section to laugh out loud. Others said that the name actually suits the singer.

“Her name is fitting, she decorates the stage with colours and her explosive dance moves,” wrote one person while another added:

“I would change it to décor.”
