Tyla: ‘My father told me the Grammy is going in his room”

South African singer Tyla revealed in an interview that her father planned to keep her Grammy in his room.

Grammy award winner, Tyla reveals that her father has decided that he’s going to place the award in his room.

TYLA: FATHER TO KEEP AWARD

Sowetan reports that the 22-year-old singer revealed in an interview backstage: “My father already told me that it’s going in his room.”

The singer who won a Grammy on Monday morning, 5 February was the youngest South African to win the award.

NewTelegraph reports that Tyla defeated Nigerian stars Davido, Burna boy, Asake and Ayra Starr in the Best African Music Performance category.

“Oh my! What the heck? What? Oh my gosh! Guys, this is crazy. I never thought I’d say I won a Grammy at 22 years old. Guys, you don’t know me. my name is Tyla. I’m from South Africa, and last year God decided to change my whole life.”

“So, thank you so much to God, thank you to my team, my family, I know my mother’s crying somewhere in here,” said the singer after winning.
