Rugby star-turned-businessman: Meet Jeannie D’s wealthy husband [photos]

After years of searching, Jeannie D has finally found her Prince Charming. And he just so happens to be Cape Town-born businessman Brandon Bekker …

The couple wed over the weekend at their picturesque beach home.

JEANNIE D WEDS HER PRINCE CHARMING

In pictures and clips posted on social media, Jeannie D and Brandon Bekker wed in an intimate ceremony surrounded by friends and family.

The glamorous occasion took place on Friday, 26 January, on the rooftop of their luxury home overlooking the ocean.

Guests at the Top Billing-style wedding were treated to a five-star experience that included delicious cuisine, live entertainment, and sophisticated decor.

WHO IS HUBBY BRANDON BEKKER?

While Jeannie D has tried her best to keep her husband’s identity a secret, guests soon revealed who he was after tagging him in their pics.

Here are five facts about the Cape Town-born entrepreneur.

He’s a hot-shot businessman.

Brandon Bekker has over two decades of experience in IT  investment in the African and global markets.

His three recent job titles include:

• Chairman of ITARMI, an on-demand IT service provider
• Managing director at Mimecast, a cybersecurity provider
• Managing director at EXCO, an internet solutions provider

He’s a former pro rugby player.

As a teen, Brandon played alongside former Springbok Percy Montgomery at the South African College High School in Newlands, Cape Town.

He would later advance to provincial, where he made 20 appearances for Western Province between 1998 and 2000.

Like Jeannie D, he’s a jet-setter.

Brandon travels around the world on business trips. But it’s not all fun and glam.

He told the publication How We Made It In Africa:  “Many people think this is glamorous, but this kind of extensive travel isn’t always fun and easy.

“There are no specified working hours in my role. It’s definitely not an eight-to-five gig.”

They have similar interests

Brandon shared in his LinkedIn: “ I enjoy cars, traveling, visiting interesting properties, food, and wine, running, squash, padel tennis (new and love it!), vets rugby, watching sport (F1, golf, tennis, football, rugby) donating to those I can help, and investing in early stage tech companies (with market traction).”

He’s on an “extended sabbatical”
