It’s almost a month since Oscar Pistorius was released on parole. Here’s everything you need to know about his condition and parole terms.

Monday, 5 February will mark a month since Oscar Pistorius was released on parole from Atteridgeville Correctional Centre in Pretoria. Here is everything you need to know about him since he was released and his parole terms…

WHY WAS OSCAR CONVICTED?

The former double-amputee athlete was sentenced to 13 years and five months behind bars for killing his then-girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Oscar Pistorius is said to have shot her four times with his licensed 9mm pistol on Valentine’s Day in 2013. She was shot through a closed bathroom door in their home. Pistorius claimed that he thought a burglar was on the other side of the door.

WHERE IS PISTORIOUS STAYING NOW?

The 37-year-old former Olympic runner is currently living under strict conditions at a family home in Pretoria, ABC News reported. He is allegedly staying at his uncle Arnold’s mansion in the upscale suburb of Waterkloof. 

HOW LONG IS THE BADE RUNNER ON PAROLE FOR?

Although he has swapped his jail cell for a private cottage in his uncle’s estate, the disgraced Paralympic star is being monitored by correctional officials until his sentence expires in December 2029.

HERE ARE FIVE OF OSCAR PISTORIUS’ PAROLE CONDITIONS

  • He is not allowed to leave the area of Pretoria for the duration of his parole, Time Magazine reported.
  • He is expected to perform community service.
  • Pistorius is required to attend a program to deal with anger issues as well as another program on violence against women.
  • The disgraced Paralympic star is not allowed to drink alcohol.
  • He is also banned from doing media interviews/talking to the press.

PHYSICAL CHANGES: THE LATEST WITH THE PAROLEE

Three significant changes have been reported about Oscar Pistorius’ looks since he was released from prison last month. Not only is he said to have allegedly picked up some weight, but he is also said to have allegedly grown grey hair, Daily Mail UK reported. According to Daily Mail, his famous prosthetic legs also no longer fit him since his limbs have shrunk from having spent several years inactive in prison.
