Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng is making headlines after he opened up on his Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) snub.

No doubt his remarks have since thrust him into the trends. Relebohile Mofokeng was hopeful for an AFCON call-up, but it never came.

Speaking to the media during the MultiChoice’s Player Transition Programme, Mofokeng said, “I also wanted to be there, I don’t know why I wasn’t selected.”

“But then things won’t always go the way you want them in life all the time. So we must just wish them good luck and go on with life. Maybe next time I will be called up,” he added.

Against his remarks, fans took a swipe at him and blamed the media for hyping him. He has since won silverware with the Soweto giants in his debut season at 19 and has even attracted interest from European clubs.

In 2023, he hogged headlines after having trials with English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves). He is undoubtedly enjoying his stay with the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

GOING BACK TO SCHOOL

The starlet recently enrolled at Johannesburg’s Gordon Institute of Business Sciences (GIBS). Relebohile and several Premier League stars will be part of this season’s PSL Player Transition Programme at GIBS.

Some notable players enrolled for this season’s classes include Sandile Mthethwa, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Reyaad Pieterse.
