Orlando Pirates took to social media to celebrate Tebogo Masemola’s matric results. The blooming midfielder was part of the 2023 matric class. Against the post, fans flooded social media with congratulatory comments.
Masemola had his shot at fame in 2023 when he was integrated into the senior team after impressing the Orlando Pirates’ coaching staff. In October, the DStv Diski Challenge player had the chance to train with the senior team.

In the backdrop of his newfound fame, many found it puzzling that the Orlando Pirates star was part of the 2023 matric class. The Orlando Pirates star had two distinctions.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the Soweto giants posted, “☠️ 👩🏾🎓 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦! 👨🏾🎓 📢 Well done to the Class of 2023 Matric graduates! 🥳🏴☠️ And to our very own Tebogo Masemola – congratulations on your TWO distinctions! 🤩.”

Fans congratulated the fast-rising star and praised the Pirates for encouraging their academy players to prioritise education. Over the years, the club has ensured that their youth academy players balance football and education.
The post has since thrust Masemola into top trends as Mzansi tries to connect the dots about the new talent on the block.

SENIOR TEAM CALL-UP
Just like Relebohile Mafokeng, Masemola has been dubbed the next big star from the Pirates’ academy. The enterprise midfielder, who can also be a striker, has been impressive in the DStv Diski Challenge.
If promoted to the senior team, Masemola joins a host of Orlando Pirates stars integrated from the youth academy to the first team, including Senzo Meyiwa, Happy Jele, and Benedict Vilakazi.
