Soweto giants Orlando Pirates are topping trends after congratulating Mamelodi Sundowns for winning the inaugural African Football League final on 12 November 2023 at Loftus Stadium.
Mamelodi Sundowns won 2-0 against Wydad Casablanca. The win saw Mamelodi Sundowns winning the AFL Cup 3-2 aggregate. FIFA president Gianni Infantino and CAF president Dr Patrice Mostepe were in attendance.

ORLANDO PIRATES’ CONGRATULATORY POST TO SUNDOWNS
Against the win, social media was set abuzz as fans flooded social media to congratulate the Brazilians. However, in the backdrop of the congratulatory message, Soweto giants Orlando Pirates took to Instagram to congratulate Sundowns.
The club posted: “☠️ Congratulations to @sundownsfc on being crowned the African Football League Champions!”
