No doubt petrolheads are more accustomed to Mercedes-Benz G63 6x6s and Toyota Land Cruiser 6x6s than Jeep Wrangler 6x6s. Social media was abuzz after a Jeep Wrangler 6×6 was spotted taking a spin in the streets.

However, could this be one of the craziest and monster Jeep Wranglers in South Africa?

JEEP WRANGLER 6X6 SPOTTED TAKING A SPIN

The Wrangler was spotted in traffic while stealing the show. However, Mzansi has yet to connect the dots about the car’s owner, which has been topping trends on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Samuel Filipe Da Fonseca shared the clip of the Wrangler taking a spin in the streets. He even asked his followers if they had seen anything like the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3.6L Polar Editon.

Against the now-viral photos, The South African has connected the dots on the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3.6L Polar Edition. How much is the trending Wrangler?

Surprisingly, the car has a Price-on-request condition on AutoTrader, leaving many guessing its price tag. However, the least expensive can cost around R1.5 million. According to Top Gear, a Jeep Gladiator 6×6 has a price tag of R2.6 million.

However, prices have ballooned over the years due to customisation and enhanced performance adjustments. A fully customised Jeep Wrangler 6×6 can cost over R5 million.

The trending Jeep Wrangler is arguably the few Jeep Wranglers 6×6 in South Africa. The last Jeep Wrangler 6×6 to make headlines was spotted at a car show in 2022.

SPECS

Two Old Dogs Racing fully customised the trending six-wheel Jeep Wrangler. The car was built for towing race cars. However, it has quickly become a darling to many, and it often causes traffic disturbances whenever it takes a spin.

Well, let’s dive into some of the specs that make it stand above the rest, including the following:

  • 6 x 37-inch custom wheels
  • 2.5-in suspension lift
  • Windshield armour
  • Custom-made mudguards, bumpers and tailgate
  • 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine with Unichip

The Wrangler has a top speed of 180km/h. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h 8.9 seconds.

MAKING HEADLINES

However, this is not the first time a six-wheel car has made headlines. MaMkhize owns one of the most expensive monstrous 6×6 bakkies in South Africa, a Mercedes-Benz Brabus G63 6×6.

Upon unveiling in 2015, it had a base price of R13.5 million. However, prices have ballooned over the years. Year of manufacture and trims now determine the price tags of such cars.

However, MaMkhize’s Brabus G63 6×6 has a price tag of over R20 million! She has a soft spot for soft cars and has splurged millions.
