Luxury lover DJ Maphorisa mocked over ‘cheap’ pots and stove
‘He flaunts millions but uses such low class brands,’ an X user said after DJ Maphorisa shared a video of himself cooking up a storm.

South African social media users are digging into hitmaker DJ Maphorisa over the price of his pots and stove. This after the musician — real name Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe — headed to Instagram to share videos of himself preparing a home cooked meal.
Maphorisa is famous for wearing lavishly expensive designer clothing which is why some were shocked to see how “humble” is kitchen and cooking tools are.
Many of them mocked him for spending so little on those things while splurging on clothes.

DJ Maphorisa is one of the country’s most successful artists and this is something he is definitely aware of.
He doesn’t mind speaking about how important he is and has gone viral a number of times for singing his own praises.

He also loves to show off his wealth by splurging on expensive designer clothes and is always spotted in outfits worth thousands of rands.
One thing he seemingly won’t spend money on is expensive state of the art pots and pans.
The musician just found himself getting roasted over the quality of his pots and stove after he shared a video of himself cooking up a storm.

Trolling galore
In the comment section, many of social media users discussed how he spends on clothes but doesn’t invest in his home.
Others defended him and said that the pots were absolutely fine.
“Yeah, but it’s not like his a chef. Our people like imposing their preferences on ours. I’m pretty sure he can afford the most expensive pots in the world.” one person said while another wrote:
“I only laugh because he flaunts millions but used such a low class brand”
