Model and presenter Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni is red in the face following pregnancy rumours on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The former Jacaranda FM present and her husband, Dr Musa Mthombeni, celebrated his graduation from the College of Diagnostic Radiologists of South Africa this week. This after the former YoTV presenter obtained his board-certified specialist radiologist certification last year.

However, while many congratulated Dr Musa, there were also comments about Liesl’s tummy supposedly looking bigger than usual in some of the couple’s images.

LIESL ISSUES SCATHING RESPONSE TO THOSE SPREADING PREGNANCY RUMOURS

Liesl has since taken to her Instagram account to put the trolls on blast. In a video she shared on Monday, the Miss South Africa 2015 winner issued a stern warning to people who are in her private business, labelling them “attention seekers”.

“Leave my womb alone. Leave other women’s wombs alone,” she began.

The beauty pageant queen sarcastically told men to use science to create their own wombs and fall pregnant instead of talking about her.

“Whether I am or not (let’s be clear, I am not) I just feel like you guys want to be seen,” she continued.

Liesl condemned the social media culture of wanting to report news first and without facts.

“This culture of wanting to be seen or wanting to be first, you guys need to stop it. When women are ready to tell you whether or not they want to procreate, or whether or not they are pregnant, or whether or not they will be expecting, they will do so within their time.

“You guys are honestly and truly starting to piss me off… I am really really tired of this happening on my posts and on other women’s posts,” she said.

Liesl further urged trolls to leave her alone and to stop bullying her. She added that she was aware of her weight-gain and she was happy with it.

“I am done on this topic. I’m absolutely done and I am sick and tired of it.

PREGNANCY RUMOURS IN 2023

This is not the first time that Liesl has addressed pregnancy rumours. In September 2023, she gave a scathing response following the same claims.

“If you post any comment on my page alluding to pregnancy, I’m going to block you — and I hope other people also block people who [make] inappropriate comments.

“As women, our bodies go through so much. So no, Jennifer, I’m not hiding my pregnancy or pregnant. I’m bloated because I’m on my period, because that’s what happens to women and you as a woman should understand that.”

Liesl also advised invasive people to wait for people to announce their pregnancies should they be pregnant.
