‘Proud of you’: Fans on Dricus Du Plessis’ post to Drake after bet

UFC Middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis had social media users in his corner after he tagged Drake in a post and sarcastically thanked him for betting that he would lose the recent fight against American fighter Sean Strickland at the Scotiabank Arena this past weekend.

As Dricus Du Plessis made his history as the first South African UFC champion recently, rapper Aubrey ‘Drake‘ Grahamon on the other hand lost a whopping $700 000 (an estimated R13.3 million) bet. This comes after the rapper bet that Sean Strickland would retain the title after taking on the South African fighter.
According to Sportskeeda, before Strickland and Du Plessis stepped into the ring this past weekend, Drake posted his betting slip on his Instagram Stories and revealed that he placed a bet on Strickland.

Upon Du Plessis’ victory, he has since tagged Drake and thanked him for placing the unfruitful bet as seen in a post shared on Monday, 22 January. In a sarcastic post, the South African Middleweight champion wrote: “O snap, almost forgot, Thanks Drake.
Social media users have come in numbers and congratulated Du Plessis on his historic achievement and dragged Drake as seen in the comment section.
