‘Viewing of the body’: Zahara’s body arrives in East London [watch]

Zahara’s body has arrived in her hometown, East London. Next, her body will be viewed by her family before her final send-off on Saturday.

The lifeless body belong to the late South African musician, Zahara – real name Bulelwa Mkutukana has finally arrived in her hometown, East London in the Eastern Cape as seen in a video posted on TikTok on Saturday,16 December – it departed from Johannesburg after her memorial service which took place on Thursday at the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg.

The late Loliwe hitmaker will be laid to rest in her hometown on Saturday, 23 December in East London, Eastern Cape. Zahara’s death was announced earlier this week. According to statements by her family, it was revealed that she died in hospital in Johannesburg on Monday, 11 December “surrounded by family and loved ones.” She passed away after suffering from a short illness allegedly linked to liver problems.

Her body arrived in a white casket in her hometown on Saturday, shortly after 12:00. Her family broke down In a heart-wrenching clip after seeing her casket. A TikTok user who shared the clip on social media announced that the next step was for the family to see Zahara’s body before her final send-off on Saturday.

“Currently At King Phalo Airport [East London airport] where the remains of our beloved Zahara have landed. A short family prayer led by the clergy is underway. Thereafter, there will be a viewing of the body at the cargo arena,” the TikTokker captioned.

At her memorial, Zahara’s sister Bulelwa Mkutukana shared that the late singer was in pain before she finally took her last breath. The late 36-year-old singer will be remembered as “a beacon of hope, a gift, and a blessing to us and countless people around the world,” a family statement read.
