Da LES – real name Leslie Mampe – popped bottles and danced with bikini-clad babes at his all-white party over the weekend. Coincidently, the exclusive event also fell on the first anniversary of AKA or Kiernan Forbes’s death.

The 10th of February was a sad day for many friends, fans, and family members of the late hitmaker, who was shot dead by hired hitmen in Durban last year.

Forbes and Mampe are longtime friends and industry colleagues.

Last year, Da LES hosted his party just a few days after AKA was laid to rest in a private funeral.

He told the crowd in a clip: “Last year we paid tribute to Riky Rick. [This year] Super Mega is watching down on us as an angel. He will live through all of us”.

BEEF AND BABY MAMA DRAMA

Da LES and AKA’s reconciliation came a year after they squashed their beef at Cotton Fest. This followed the festival founder Riky Rick’s death by suicide in February 2022.

During the show AKA brought out his friend out as part of his Cotton Fest act.

The friends – who go back to Tropika Island of Treasure season five days in 2013 – performed their hit songs Real Stuff and All Eyes on Me.

According to insiders, Mampe cut ties with AKA after the latter was reportedly linked to his baby mama Aurea Alexander.

In 2020, rumours of a rift were intensified after Da LES released his single Gucci Snakes, which boasted the lyrics: “N***as try to bite your soul just to take your place. Try to f*** your baby mama to see how it tastes”.
