In a clip posted on social media, the president followed the actions of the men by lifting his hands, bending his knees, and kneeling on the ground.

He tweeted from his official X account: “Joined the morning prayer in Laudium this morning to wish the Muslim community a blessed Eid Mubarak and deliver an address as they celebrate the end of the fast. We wish Muslims in South Africa and around the world a blessed and joyous Eid-ul-Fitr”.

In the comment section, many members of the Muslim community praised the president for his acknowledgment of their faith.

MORE MOVES FROM THE PRESIDENT

It’s not the first time we’ve seen President Cyril Ramaphosa bust a dance move.

In recent clips, we’ve spotted him dancing to Tyler ICU’s amapiano track Mnike, as well as Tyla’s hit song Water. Ramaphosa even proved he can keep up with energetic dance queen Makhadzi.

He’s also done the vosho and is a firm fan of Master KG’s Jerusalema. He said of the global hit in a 2020 presidential address: “There can be no better way to celebrate our South African-ness than to join the global phenomenon that is spreading across the world, and that is the Jerusalema dance challenge.

“Our performers have demonstrated to the world that we have good music and good dance and good moves.”
