Bafana fans thank Ronwen Williams for upsetting Cape Verde

Bafana Bafana fans on Sunday credited captain, goalkeeper Ronwen Williams for saving four penalties against Cape Verde in AFCON quarterfinals.

Bafana Bafana fans took to social media on Sunday, 4 February morning to praise Ronwen Williams for saving four penalties against Cape Verde.

‘RONWEN WILLIAMS A NATIONAL HERO’

The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams upset Cape Verde when he saved four penalties, out of five in the AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) game.

Williams stole the spotlight when he thwarted penalties by Cape Verde’s Bebe, Willy Semedo, Laros Duarte, and Bryan Teixeira in the quarterfinals.

South Africans called Williams a national hero and thanked him for saving the day. Leadership reports that South Africa will face Nigeria in the semifinals on Wednesday, 7 February at 19:00.
