Zahara’s sisters, Lumka and Bandezwa Mkutukana, have reportedly moved into her Roodepoort home against the family’s wishes.

A source has told ZiMoja that the two sisters have also ransacked the late multi-award-winning musician’s wardrobe, subsequently taking pictures in her clothes.

The 36-year-old Loliwe hitmaker – real name Bulelwa Mkutukana – took her last breath at a Johannesburg hospital on 11 December after spending almost three weeks in intensive care unit (ICU). She was laid to rest on 23 December in East London.

According to ZiMoja’s source, Lumka and Bandezwa are disrespecting their culture by helping themselves to Zahara’s clothes as the necessary steps to handout the late artist’s belongings have not been followed.

“Our culture says that after a person dies, we need to have a ceremony where the clothes are given out freely to family and friends,” said the source.

“This has not been done. But they have already started wearing her clothes and parading around. Trust me, she is mad wherever she is.”

A picture of Bandezwa wearing a white dress that Zahara reportedly wore during her last show, before her passing, was shared.

In response, Bandezwa, reportedly said: “We were just trying them on. What is wrong with that? She is not here anymore.”

Before Zahara’s passing, it was reported that Lumka and Bandezwa went on a shopping spree with the Phendula hitmaker’s bank cards.

However, a day before her funeral, they rubbished the claims in a video shared across social media, saying they had no time to shop because they were worried about the star.

The sisters are also accused of peddling lies about Zahara’s partner, Mpho Xaba, who is reportedly not recognised by the Mkutukana family as her husband because they said he did not pay full lobolo.

“It’s truly heartbreaking. The lies they have been spreading lies about her fiance, Mpho, is beyond me,” the source said.

This, however, is contrary to what Lumka and Bandezwa said before Zahara’s funeral, as they accused Mpho of spreading lies about them to the press. They further alleged that they received a call that Mpho is claiming their sister’s assets and claiming that he had children with the late singer.
