Kaizer Chiefs have paid tribute to one of their biggest celebrity fans – Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana.

The singer and soccer fan died on Monday evening after a long battle with liver complications.

She was just 36 years old.

KAIZER CHIEFS REMEMBER ZAHARA

Kaizer Chiefs remembered the talented and energetic entertainer in a tweet posted on their official X account.

It read: “Heartfelt condolences to the Mkutukana family for the loss of their daughter and our beloved singer, Bulelwa Mkutukana, better known as Zahara. 

“Thank you for allowing her to share her massive talent and love for music with the world. Her powerful voice and guitar will echo forever. 

Referring to her poet stage name, the club added: “Rest in Peace Spinach.”

According to Sports Brief, Zahara was a staunch supporter of Amakhosi and pledged her allegiance from a young age.

Last year, the star appealed to the club to sponsor a concert for her to raise funds to save her Roodepoort mansion, which she had defaulted payments on

Meanwhile, the Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture, Zizi Kodwa has shared details of Zahara’s memorial service, which will take place on Thursday, 14 December, at the Rhema Bible Church.
