Springbok Handre Pollard has been nicknamed South Africa’s “national husband” after he became the object of many an adoring female fan’s affection.
Despite being married to his “best friend,” – women have continued to publicly thirst over the flyhalf who helped South Africa win the Rugby World Cup for a second consecutive year.
But is it all fun and games, or are women crossing the line when it comes to their favourite “wife-up” players like Handre, Eben Etzebeth, and Faf de Klerk.

FEMALE FANS THIRST OVER HANDRE POLLARD
Since winning the Rugby World Cup for the second consecutive time last weekend, the Springboks players have become national heroes.
And quite a few have been elevated to “thirst trap” statuses, with female fans publicly declaring their infatuation.
One player in particular who is high up on the list is Handre Pollard.

Despite being happily married to a brunette bombshell for over five years, the number 10 player has attracted much attention on social media.
On TikTok, female fans have been falling over themselves with videos “crushing” on the player.
“I know he’s married, but I want Handre Pollard to notice me,” said one. “Sharing is caring,” said another”
Another added: “Marise is in trouble.”

CROSSING THE LINE?
Handre Pollard is not the first married Springbok player to be fawned over.
Captain Siya Kolisi has also had his fair share of adoring female fans. But while Marise Pollard has yet to address her husband’s legion of admirers, Siya’s wife has made her feelings known. She’s even accused fans of disrespecting her marriage.
In 2018, Rachel clapped back at a woman on social media who claimed Siya was her “type.”
Taking to her Twitter account – which she has since deleted – Rachel clapped back: “[Siya’s] not ‘a type’. He’s a married man responsible for four children.”
In a separate tweet, she added: “Just a side note. I’ve been there for all the good times. But I’ve also been there for ALL the bad times. Honestly, this should go without saying. Respect my relationship and woman to woman. Respect me.”

On another occasion, Rachel labelled influencer Zuki Lamani “thirsty” after she revealed that Siya was her celebrity crush.
